The original stroopwafel was made in the Netherlands and featured two waffle cookie wafers with a soft, caramel filling.
Coffee lovers will often set their stroopwafel on top of their cup or mug. While the stroopwafel keeps the coffee warm, the heat from your morning brew melts the gooey middle layer.
You can also try stroopwafels with their traditional Dutch Caramel & Vanilla filling, or in Chocolate Brownie, Snickerdoodle or Honey & Oats flavors.
